Scientific Studies have been carried out at many major hospitals and universities for various medical and physical difficulties. Any doctor will tell you that all of your cells are new every 90 days, and your bone cells are new in 180 days.
I will provide three studies or facts to show how the body can change using hypnosis, visualization, mindfulness and relaxation.
Pain: An analysis of 18 studies of hypnosis and pain, with more than 900 people, conducted by researchers at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York, shows the patient’s experience shows substantial pain relief in 75% of the participants.
Smoking: Study of 71 smokers showed that after a two-year follow=up, patients that quit with hypnosis were twice as likely to still be smoke-free than those that quit on their own. [Journal of Nursing Scholarship, 2005]
Smoking: Hypnosis is the most effective way of giving up smoking according to the largest ever scientific comparison. A meta-analysis combined results of more than 600 studies of 72,000 people from America and Europe to compare different methods of quitting. On average, hypnosis was over three times as effective as nicotine replacement, and 15 times as effective as trying to quit alone. [New Scientist, October 10, 1992]
Weight Loss: Study of the effort of adding hypnosis to cognitive-behavioral treatments for weight reduction showed that benefits of hypnosis increased substantially over time. [Journal of Consulting Clinical Psychology]
Weight Loss: Researchers analyzed 18 studies compairing a cognitive behavioral therapy such as relaxation training, guided imagery, self-monitoring or goal-setting with same therapy supplemented by hypnosis. Those who received the hypnosis lost more weight than 90% of those that did not receive hypnosis and maintained it two years after treatment ended.
Study for Hypnosis in Contemporary Medicine: A review by Mayo Clinic of over 100 studies for medical procedures documents that hypnosis is beneficial for allergies, anesthesia for pain, anesthesia for surgery, warts, dermatitis, irritable bowel, peptic ulcers, abdominal surgery, healing from injury or surgery, hypertension, headaches, childbirth, asthma, soking cessation, fibromyalgia, impotence, and urinary incontinence. These trials have established the unity and efficacy of hypnosis for several medical conditions, wither alone or as part of the treatment regimen.
