MASSAGE

Massage therapy has been used for thousands of years.  It was practiced in ancient Rome, Greece, China and many of the other ancient civilizations.

Massage was brought to the United States in the 1850s.  It became very popular and was widely used for many years.  As medicine became more scientific, massage declined until athletes began using it effectively in the 1970s.  Massage can be used for a number of health reasons, including relieving stress, and to increase relaxation.  It is also used for rehabilitation from sports or other injuries.
