What is hypnosis?
Hypnosis is a natural state for eveyr person. You may have experienced it by design when you chose to see a hypnotist, or just naturally when you were driving along and suddenly wondered how you had traveled so far. Perhaps you were watching a movie, reading a book, or playing a video game and when someone walked into the room you were only partially aware of them. Hypnosis is this focused concentration.
Hypnosis has nothing to do with the supernatural, mind control, or religion. Hypnosis has nothing to do with magic. I wish I could wave a magic wand and you could lose weight, stop smoking, be out of pain or reach whatever goal you have set for yourself. I can't do that, but I believe you can do those very things yourself with hypnosis and self-hypnosis to help you. You are always in control when you are hypnotized. You hear everything the hypnotist says to you. You are in a very relaxed state. If the hypnotist said anything which was contrary to what you believe, you would wake up. While you are in a hypnotic state you will not tell any secrets, remember, you are always in control.
How does hypnosis help?
Your conscious mind is only 10% while the subconscious, or unconscious, mind is 90%. To change something in your life in the long term you need to make a negotiation between these two parts of your mind. The definition of hypnosis by the US Government is: 1. the bypass of the critical factor; 2. the establishment of acceptable selective thinking. This explains what hypnosis does to help you. Bypass the critical factor means moving past those things that the 10% of your mind says is impossible, then telling the 90% that is subconscious the positive suggestions something like creating anesthesia for pain management. The American Medical Association accepted the use of hypnosis in 1958 to work with a physician's referral for many medical conditions.

What is hypnosis used for?
Our mind is like a garden with each plant being another thought. Some thoughts have been planted in a loving, positive way and some in a negative way. The negative thoughts or plants are weeds because they do not move us forward toward who we could become. You can ignore the weeds or cut them off, but if you don't pull the roots out they will keep coming back stronger. Hypnosis caan remove the root of those negative thoughts and experiences.
We offer hypnosis for many things. Some of the most frequent are:
Attitude Confidence Fears PTSD Motivation Nail Biting Insomnia Natural Childbirth Pain Management Cancer treatment side-effects Sadness Memory Concentration Dental issues Prepare for surgery Self-esteem issues Smoking cessation Irritable Bowel Relationships Sports improvement Stress Management Sexual problems Fibromyalgia Weight management Enhance the immune system Explore Past Life
How long will it last?
Sometimes the results of hypnosis will last forever. Other times it needs to be reinforced. The more post-hypnotic suggestions you give yourself, the better the results. You are creating new neuro-pathways in your brain. You are creating a new positive habit by such things as listening to a CD we provide to you, repeating positive affirmations, or learning self-hypnosis.
How many sessions do I need?
Many issues can be taken care of in as little as one - three sessions. Hypnosis in one tool. We also offer coaching and EFT to complement each other.
Therapy comparison
We would like to share a comparison study by the American Health Magazine. They documented the following rates of success:
Psychoanalysis- 600 sessions 38%
Behavior Therapy- 22 sessions 72% Hypnosis- 6 sessions 93%
~~~~~~~~I would like to add that I believe in the power of hypnosis and am not surprised by the results of this study. HOWEVER, we work with people with problems that we all experience. We do not work with anyone who has a diagnosis of a medical or psychiatric condition without a referral. ~~~~~~~~~
